Dull Chisel

Dull Chisel by Garry Harrison is played at jams and festivals all across the country. At Sandbridge, we love to jam it!

This class (2 - 1 hour classes) was taught live in July 2024 for past, present, and future Sandbridge participants to help us create an ongoing library of tunes we all know. The class replays, handouts, and supplemental videos are now available to everyone!

Do you already know Dull Chisel? This class is for you too! If you have taken classes from Mary Lynn before, you know that she teaches a lot more than just a tune. Regardless of your level of experience, you will learn concepts and practical skills that will make you a better hammered dulcimer player!

You'll discover key concepts to help you create a harmony on the fly for this and other tunes. You'll see the chords better than ever, and walk away with multiple backup strategies from a simple shuffle to ascending and descending basslines.
